Darko Rundek karijeru je započeo 70-tih kao pjevač i gitarist, a kasnije kao autor i skladatelj u zagrebačkom kultnom band-u iz vremena novog vala osamdesetih – Haustor. U isto je vrijeme završio režiju na Akademiji za dramsku umjetnost u Zagrebu i režirao nekoliko kazališnih i radio drama.
Godine 1991. odlazi u Pariz gdje uglavnom radi glazbu za kazališne drame. Šest godina kasnije izdaje svoj prvi solo album „Apokalipso” na kojem je sudjelovalo 30-tak glazbenika. Poslije drugog albuma, „U širokom svijetu”, u Francuskoj počinje raditi na albumu „Ruke” kojeg će snimiti s nekolicinom glazbenika i koji će kasnije postati sastavnicom projektom Rundek Cargo Orkestar.
Povodom dvadesetogodišnjice izlaska kultnog albuma Apokalipso, jednog od najvećih umjetnika ovih prostora imati ćemo prilike vidjeti i na našoj pozornici 28. srpnja.
